ORGANIZATIONAL  STRUCTURE

AAP Chapters are individually incorporated, externally chartered, have their own bylaws and dues and further the aims of the national organization as well as local priorities.  The AAP chapter for the state of Arizona, AzAAP, represents over 900 Fellows, Candidate Fellows and Emeritus Fellows, Affiliate Members, Residents and Medical Students.

Every two years, members elect physicians who will serve on the Board of Directors, which is the chapter's governing body.  The Board of Directors elect an Executive Committee to act on behalf of the Board on actions not requiring Board action.  Executive Committee members include a president, vice president, immediate-past president, secretary and treasurer.

Chapter members interested in similar areas of pediatric interest are invited to participate in chapter committees.  Committees are invited to make recommendations to the executive committee and board of directors as representative of the diverse chapter membership.
