LEGISLATIVE  COMMITTEE

The purpose of the Legislative Committee is to be the conduit between the Chapter and the Arizona Legislature regarding issues surrounding child health and pediatric practice in Arizona. 

The basic responsibilities of the Legislative Committee are to:

  1. Work closely with the person responsible for monitoring Arizona legislation.
  2. Make recommendations to the Board about taking positions on specific pieces of legislation.
  3. Be knowledgeable about the status of those bills determined to be of interest to the Chapter.
  4. Help write appropriate “calls for action” in a timely manner.
  5. Work closely with other Chapter committees to develop positions statements and coordinate activities at the state legislature.
