AzAAP ANNUAL MEETING
2010 AzAAP Award Recipients
This is an opportunity for members from across the state to gather with their peers and learn about the state of the chapter. At the annual meeting luncheon, members are provided with an opportunity to network, discuss legislation, address "hot topics," issues and concerns for the future, and learn what the chapter is doing for members and children in Arizona. Presentations are made by chapter leadership and AAP District VIII representatives.
The Annual Meeting is also an opportunity to recognize outstanding members and partner organizations. Four awards are presented each year at this meeting.
- The Service Award is presented for years of service in the AzAAP and continued support of the mission of the Chapter and care for children. This year's recipient is Dr. Norm Saba.
- The Achievement Award goes to a chapter member who has gone beyond the call of activist. This year's recipient is Dr. Karen Lewis.
- The Partnership Award is presented to an outside government agency or person dedicated to child advocacy whose work reflects the mission and goals of the AzAAP. This year's recipient is the Arizona Partnership for Immunizations (TAPI).
- This year the AzAAP as created a new award - the Humanitarian Award - that will be given to an AzAAP member who volunteers to provide clinical services in impoverished countries around the world, without regard to personal safety and well being. This year's recipient is Dr. David Beyda.
