The American Academy of Pediatrics AZ Foundation is the non-profit charitable organization of the AZ Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AzAAP). Foundation projects, directed by volunteer pediatricians, educate parents and communities about health and safety issues and provide needed programs that fill children’s healthcare gaps in Arizona and deliver these necessary services.
The purpose of the Foundation is to improve the health and well-being of Arizona’s children and to further the education of pediatricians and the public in matters pertaining to children’s health and wellbeing. This objective is furthered by the initiation, continuation and expansion of the programs and projects through access to charitable contributions from individuals, other foundations and businesses within the pediatric profession, health care arena, corporations and communities within Arizona.
The Arizona Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AzAAP) has built an impressive network among pediatricians and other medical professionals and child advocacy organizations throughout Arizona. The American Academy of Pediatrics AZ Foundation will continue to leverage this network to create community awareness, advocate for improved physical, mental health, and learning standards and educate parents by giving them the skills to implement a healthy lifestyle for their families.
Our quality programs have been supported with YOUR generous contributions. Some of these efforts include the distribution of over 253,000 books to 172 clinics through Reach Out and Read Arizona. Medical Home Project has provided nearly 9,000 acute/episodic referrals and access to over 5,600 ancillary services such as prescription medication, laboratory testing and prescription eyeglasses statewide.
